I just have one question (or maybe several): Where has the Christian church gone wrong?
It seems that the even within the Christian church, many Christians have lost their way. Some don't know who is a true Christian & who is not...some don't know the true meaning of Jesus & the cross...some have lost all sensitivity to the seriousness of sin & have used the Grace of Jesus Christ to justify their means to sin. Sometimes it seems that a Christian is no different than a non-Christian by their actions. Some Christians (especially in America) seem to adhere to only the parts of the Bible that they like or agree with, while leaving out a huge chunk, thus ignoring holy conviction from God that would save them & transform them as God's plan for humankind was meant to do.
I think that there is a serious problem in today's Christian church, especially in Western countries. I am praying for America, that God would wake us up! It's time to step out of our comfort zones, it's time to come kneeling before the cross & cry to Jesus for our sins, it's time to "go & sin no more" as Jesus commanded Mary Magdalene when He forgave her. Otherwise, what are we doing? Otherwise, what are other people seeing? They are seeing no more than a "label," if we aren't at least STRIVING to live our lives for Christ...thus making the act that Jesus did for us at Calvary a cheap bargain.
2 Chronicles 7:14 -- "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Romans 12:2 -- "Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 2:20 -- "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Galatians 5:24 -- "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires."
1 John 1:8-10 -- "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives."
John 1:17 -- "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
Romans 6 -- Read here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=romans%206;&version=31;
2 Corinthians 5:17 -- "If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone & the new has come!"
